Market turbulence yet again.  Amazingly, both the Dow and Nasdaq ended this week with gains.  CSCO announced that it will buy back shares!  Thank goodness.  It makes $40 by Jan 09 more likely.  In other news, home builders should continue to worry about that sub-prime mess.  However, some of their stock are offering dividends yields that are tempting strong value investors.  I’ve adjusted my sell orders on the KBH call options from sell 2 @ $2 and sell 2 @ $3 to sell 2 @ $1 and 2 @ $2.  Yes, I’m running scared.  :(  I should have stuck with a longer term put.

What a day! Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 down more than 2.6% each! Bought 1 CSCO contract for Jan 09 at $40. Hoping that the earnings announcement would be positive — and it was. But Wall Street would disagree. It wanted more. CSCO met numbers and reaffirmed guidance. These days, it seems just not enough anymore. Shares down about 4% at the close (down day anyway). But then down again almost 9% in after hours. Jeeze! Well that just suck. How high would you think CSCO can go within 1 year. Again, this is why I try to get LEAPS with call options.

Keeping up to date manually has been a pretty daunting task. Currently, I take all the Tradeking screenshots by hand and upload them. Then I write a little blurp about the day’s activities. So, I’ve created a widget on the sidebar to report a daily balance. It’s not a complete snapshot of what happens — just the balance. For some it is “good enough”. For others, they will want to see more info.

I know someone reading this has better programming skills than I. If you see this message, please send me a note and help me make it better!

Of course, I will continue to do as many manual updates as possible. I will definitely try to do an update and screenshot if a trade occurs!

Didn’t get a chance to update yesterday. Market up and down today — finally ended up positive. Here’s something I’ve only seen in movies but is now happening now in real life!
